Michael Ray Chambers, 49, of Muncie stepped into the arms of Jesus, Saturday January 1, 2022 at IU Ball Memorial Hospital. Michael was like "a warrior that never complained and never let anything stop him". He was born on November 11, 1972 in Muncie, a son of the late Robert Max and Margaret Roxina (Koenig) Chambers.
Known to have one of everything, Michael was very organized and enjoyed being out in his garage working but it was more than just a place to work, it's where the weekly Bible study took place; appropriately, he loved Menards. He was a fan of having LED lights, enjoyed riding four-wheelers and traveling. Everything was a teaching moment to Michael and he was a man of many talents. He enjoyed most of all, spending time with his family. Michael had been a volunteer with the Cowan Fire Department for 26 years.
Michael is survived by his wife, Michelle Chambers; daughters, Jessica (Kevin) Seider, Shelby (Emmanuel) Perez, Sarah (Travis) Rickman; honorary daughter, Kaci Reger; grandchildren, Ruby and Robert Seider and Carlos Perez; brother, James Chambers; sister, Rita (Buddy) Story; mother-in-law, Debbie Bell; sister-in-law, Veronica (Brent) Hoover; best friends, David (Brandy) Roach, Gill Miller, Ivan Gregory; uncle, Ron Rigney and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his sisters, Roberta Walters and Rose Story; father-in-law, Jimmy Bell.
Services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday January 5, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until the time of service on Wednesday. Memorial contribution may be given to the American Cancer Society.
