William Gipson Knight, age 92, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Franklin Manor following an extended illness.

Mr. Knight was born in Decherd, Tenn., on October 25, 1929, to the late William Benjamin Knight and Lemmie Gipson Knight.

Mr. Knight's first place of employment was with WCDT Radio Station as a Disc Jockey. He called himself "The Knight of The Turntable."

Mr. Knight was then employed as an Electrician's Assistant for approximately 32 years at Arnold Air Force Base where he retired. He then was employed for 11 years by the Franklin County School System as a School Bus Driver. He was also a farmer.

Mr. Knight enjoyed woodworking and was a member of the Tennessee Woodworkers Association.

Mr. Knight was a 60 year member of the Goshen Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Winchester, Tenn. During his membership, he served as a Church Elder, sang in the choir, and most of all, was a faithful member of his church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Knight was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Sally Evelyn Knight.

He is survived by his son, Andy Knight of Winchester, Tenn., Daughters, Melissa Henson and husband David of Columbia, Tenn., and Julia Cook and husband Brian, of Lewisburg, Tenn. Grandchildren Mandy Hill and husband John, of Madison, Alabama, Melinda Knight of Huntsville, Alabama, Ben Henson of Atlanta, Georgia, Katie Poling and husband Jay, of Columbia, Tenn., Grant Cook and wife Kalel of Lewisburg, Tenn., and Gabriel Cook. Four Great-Grandchildren, two nieces, Nancy Ellsworth, and Patricia Elve, both of Atlanta, Georgia.

Services for Mr. Knight will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 5, 2021, at Goshen Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Winchester, Tenn., with Rev. Richard Morgan and Rev. Charles Hughes officiating.

Visitation for Mr. Knight is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. prior to services at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the Church.

Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved Evelyn with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
