Larry David Benham, age 76, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family, in Brandenburg, KY.
Larry was born June 21, 1945 in Brandenburg, KY to the late Paul D. and Louella Cain Benham. His daughter, Jennifer Manion and brother, Barry Benham also preceded him in death.
Larry was a construction superintendent for Gohmann Asphalt and Construction, MAC Construction, and Certified Asphalt. He was a volunteer for many organizations which included MCHS band, the Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts, and the American Cancer Society. Larry was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brandenburg and a melanoma cancer survivor of over 40 years. Larry truly loved his family, spending time with his grandchildren and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Eileen Benham of Brandenburg, KY; son, Andrew David (Jillian Dawn) Benham of Brandenburg, KY; daughter, Eileen Elizabeth (James Albert) Shacklett of Brandenburg, KY; brothers, Gary (Peggy) Benham and Paul (Glenda) Benham; sisters, Alice (Wayne) Johnston, Brenda (Paul) Zerkow, Nancy (Tony) McGuire, Susan (Elzie) Turner, and Teresa Benham; eight grandchildren, Ryan (Jessie) Manion, Ginny Manion, Colby Benham, Tyler Benham, Connor Shacklett, Liam Shacklett, Emmie Shacklett, and Wyatt Benham; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 2:00 – 8:00 PM at the Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral home, and after 9:30 A.M. Wednesday, at the First Baptist Church in Brandenburg.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Brandenburg, KY with Pastor Seth Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the St. George Cemetery.
