Martha Mae (Kingery) Tennant was born on Tuesday; April 2, 1918 in Monroe; Jasper County, Iowa. She was the daughter of: Nathan Henry & Blanche (DeHaai) Kingery. Martha was united in marriage to Lawrence Hunt, later she married A.J. Tennant. She was member of the First Baptist Church. Martha enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She will be remembered for caring for the elderly in her home for many years.
Martha Mae (Kingery) Tennant, age 89 of Monroe, Iowa passed away on Monday; November 26, 2007, at the Kavanagh House on 56th in Des Moines; Polk County, Iowa. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her children: Betty Hem of Hartford; Warren County, Iowa and Larry Hunt of Salix; Woodbury County, Iowa. Her five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Also her brother: Marion Kingery of Monroe, Iowa and her sister: Catherine Ocker of Newton; Jasper County, Iowa. Preceding her in death were her parents, both husbands, an infant daughter: Dorothy, her sister: Marie Sowers and an infant brother: Sammy Kingery. May they rest in peace. Visitation will be from: 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and the family will be present of 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday; November 28, 2007 at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at: 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Monroe, Iowa. Interment will be at the Hartford Cemetery in Hartford; Warren County, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Martha's name may be given to Hospice of Central Iowa.
