Glenn Paul Martin, 84, passed away Sunday, January 17 at Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, NC. He was born on February 2, 1936 in Milwaukee, Northampton County to the late Gordon Paul Martin and Emily Vann Martin, the third of six children. He was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Angela Martin, and his siblings Robert Martin, Ethel Martin Askew, and Donald Martin.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 63 years, Edna Martin, his daughter Dawn Martin, his four granddaughters: Kristen Brabble and husband David Sharpe, Wendy Brabble, Allison Martin, and Kaitlyn Martin, his brother Lowell Martin and wife Jane Martin and his sister Daphne Martin Little and husband Raymond Little.
Glenn served in the Navy for nine years after high school. He and Edna lived in Waldorf, Maryland for 10 years, before returning home to Northampton County. Glenn went to work for Union Camp in Franklin, Virginia in 1967 and retired in 2000. He was a licensed pilot and barber and loved flying, fishing, farming, and his family.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Monisha Clark, his caretaker for the past two and a half years.
A graveside service will be held Friday, January 22nd, at 11:00AM at the Milwaukee Cemetery in Milwaukee, NC. Bridgers Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of the arrangements and online condolences may be shared with the family at www.bridgersfuneralhome.com.
