Mona Kathryn Glover, age 71, of Wallingford, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019 at St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky. Mona was born in Ashland, Kentucky on November 28, 1947 the daughter of the late James and Nora Stewart Meade and was the widow of Leo Glover.
Mrs. Glover graduated from Stebbons High School and Lee's College and was a member of the Goddard Methodist Church. She worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses and also as a teacher's aide for the Breathitt County School System.
Survivors include her two sons, John Lacey Adkins of Wallingford, KY and David Lloyd Adkins (Stella) of Morehead, KY; six grandchildren, Kameron Clay Adkins and Christian Tyler Adkins, both of Sandy Hook, KY, Jacob Conner Adkins of Gatlinburg, TN, Catherine Carlene Watkins of Dayton, OH, Savannah Darryl Halsey of Campton, KY and Alex Shelby Halsey of Garrison, KY. She is also survived one sister, Joyce Snyder (Darrell) of Wallingford, KY; one brother, Leonard Meade (Dorothy) of Bradenton Beach, FL and one sister-in-law, Joann Meade of Woodbridge, VA. Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Dean Adkins II, her granddaughter, Sara Renee Adkins and by her brother, James Lacey Meade.
Funeral services for Mona K. Glover will be held at the Carpenter, Fritz and Vice Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Friday, March 22, 2019. Burial will follow in the Goddard Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 5 to 8 PM.
