Robert O'Neil Keel, 70, of Collinsville, Ill., born Sunday, March 19, 1944, in Granite City, Ill., died Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Robert worked 12 years at the Carondelet Foundry. He enjoyed fishing, collecting cans, playing board games and enjoyed playing his guitar and listening to Johnny Cash songs. He was baptized at the age of 19 in Dover, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Wilson and Ella Mae, nee Harris, Keel; twin brothers, Wilton and Ray Keel; a great-granddaughter, Lacy Farris; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Herling.
Surviving are his wife, Jackie, nee Hayes, Keel of Collinsville, Ill.; three daughters, Angela M. Keel of Collinsville, Ill., Christine E. Keel of Collinsville, Ill., and Deana (Ricky) Vandeford of Collinsville, Ill.; five grandchildren, Cynthia Farris, Alicia Keel, Adam Keel, Jessica Herling, and Cierra Vandeford; two great-grandchildren, Madelynn Cuvar, and Bentlee Stover; and a twin sister, Helen Louise Sowell of Caton, Ill.
