Frances "Todd" Brady, age 96, of Ankeny, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. She was born June 5, 1924 to James and Edna (Brindley) Brady in Ankeny, Iowa. Growing up her sister Louise could not pronounce her name, so Frances was referred to as the "Toddler", which in return she earned the nickname "Tod" by her family, and close friends. She graduated from Polk City High School and then attended the American Institute of Business (AIB). From there she worked for a short time at Stoner Signs before starting a career working for the state of Iowa. Frances retired after 36 years with the Department of Natural Resources, formally known as the Iowa Conservative Commission. Frances is survived by her brother, James (Patricia) Brady of Polk City; niece, Margaret (Jim) Cope of Drakesville, Iowa and their family, Michael and Sarah; niece, Mary (Andrew) Snetslaar of Polk City; niece, Martha Brady of Polk City, and her family, Nicholas (Molly) Moore, Amanda (Colin) Robinson, Jennie Moore and Josie Moore; nephew, James P. (Dena) Brady of Vermillion, S.D., and their family, Jessica, Nathan, Rachel, and Zachary Brady; nephew, Michael (Jolene) Brady of Kellogg, Iowa, and their family, Ethan, Austin, Colton, Ben, Kaden, and Lincoln Brady; and niece, Diane (Dan) Lahr of Katy, Texas, and their family, Joe, Sam, and Levi Lahr. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Louise; and great-nephew, Trenton Brady. Memorial contributions can be directed to St. Luke the Evangilist Catholic Church and School.
