James W. Pemberton, 88, of Mitchell, formally of Orleans, passed away at 8:24 PM on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at his residence.
He was born November 18, 1933 in Bedford, Indiana, the son of Oscar James and Marguerite (Sullivan) Pemberton.
He married Norma (Eigel) Pemberton on July 3, 1955 and she survives.
James was a veteran of the United States Airforce. He was an operations manager at Kimball International in Jasper for several years. Jim attended the Faith Mission Church in Bedford. He graduated from Orleans High School, Class of 1953.
He is survived by his wife, Norma of Mitchell; three children; Marilyn "Susie" (Brian) Hutslar of Paoli; Travis J. (Tammie) Pemberton of Loogootee and Brandi (Tim) Johnson of Orleans; three grandchildren; Zachary, Elijah and Gavin; one brother, Alan (Dana) Pemberton of Bedford, IN; two sisters; Joyce (Leland) Barley and Brenda (Loren) Williams, both of Orleans, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Eddie Pemberton and Gary Pemberton.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home with Bro. J. Stevan Manley and Bro. Aaron Wardlaw officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery, Orleans, IN.
Friends are invited to visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday and one hour prior to service.
