Obituary
Gerald Horn of Hobbs, NM passed away on December 19, 2021. He was 79 years old. Gerald moved to Hobbs in 1951 along with his parents Roy and Gladys Horn. He had three siblings, Gene Horn (deceased), Nelda Horn Worley (deceased) and Connie Horn White.

Gerald graduated from Hobbs High School in 1960 and soon after went to work as an oilfield hand. He liked the oilfield and retired after working 26 years or Clarke Well Service.

Gerald entered the Navy during the Viet Nam War and served four years with most of his service being in Viet Nam. He was proud of his service and gave it his best. He was a war hero having been captured by Viet Cong. He was able to escape along with another sailor.

Gerald is in Heaven now with those he loved who went before him. His wife Sharlotte, his infant son Kenneth, parents Roy and Gladys Horn, his brother Gene and sister Nelda. He was also greeted by other family members including his nephew, neice,brother–in-law and sister-in-law.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Connie and Gary White of Lovington. He has nephews Gary White Jr.and Chris White and his nieces Debbie Massengill, Phyllis Wilson, Ruthann Hawks and Kathy Horn. He is also survived by Navy buddy and best friend, Gordon Mohler.

We won't say good bye as we will see him again. We will say "see you later" .

The family thanks those who have helped Gerald over the past months and we are especially grateful to the wonderful nurses at the Veterans Clinic in Hobbs.
