Funeral services for Helen O'Brien Clark will be held at Wellspring (formerly Springdale) Baptist Church, 1701 Springdale Road, Dublin, GA on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 2:00 PM followed by interment at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at 1:00 PM prior to the service. Dr. Craig Williamson and Rev. Paul Wilkes will officiate.
Mrs. Clark died on Wednesday, December 29, 2021.
Born August 15, 1928 in Metter, Georgia to John O'Brien and Bessie Jordan O'Brien, she moved to Dublin with her parents while in high school. She attended school in Metter before moving to Dublin. She was a 1945 Honor Graduate of Dublin High School.
She worked at Arnau Tire & Accessory Co. and Nelson & Nelson Attorneys at Law before her 33 years employment with J.P. Stevens & Company which became Forstmann & Company from which she retired.
She married Willard Edward (Jake) Clark on June 27, 1953. They were married almost 51 years upon his death in 2004. They had four children.
She was a current member of Wellspring Baptist Church formerly Springdale Baptist and Saxon Heights Baptist Church. She served on various committees through the years, sang in the choir, and taught children and youth in Sunday School. In 2015 she was honored by the church for her 30 years of teaching at Springdale, in addition to her years at Saxon Heights which reached as far back as the 1950's.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
