Virginia Sherman (nee Baraga) age 93, passed away from the devastating effects of COVID on December 31, 2021, at Mount St. Joseph Rehabilitation Center in Euclid.

She was the beloved wife of the late Bruce B. Sherman, who passed away in 1996, and daughter of the late Frank and Frances (nee Mesec) Baraga. Ginny was born January 19, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the loving mother of Leslie (Thomas) Cooke of Euclid; grandmother of Bruce (Stephani) Cooke, Michael (Mehek) Cooke, and Julia Cooke; great-grandmother of Grace, Nathan, and Juliet; sister of the late Alvina (William) Spalding; aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the Shaker Heights Country Club where she golfed and played bridge, the Mayfield Curling Club where she was a fierce competitor and skip until her mid-seventies, and the Lake Shore Garden Club where she was a past president and blue ribbon winner in numerous juried flower shows. Her creativity was boundless and she was an accomplished seamstress and an excellent cook and hostess.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 PM on Saturday, January 8, at Ss. Robert and William Catholic Parish, 367 East 260th St., Euclid. Rev. John Betters will officiate the services.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. She will be laid to rest at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
