Linda Kay Dornheim was born May 9, 1947 in Grand Forks, ND to William "Bill" and Greba (Sorenson) Dornheim. She was the second child and oldest daughter in the family. Linda was raised and educated in Grand Forks, graduating from Grand Forks Central High School in 1965.

After completing her education, Linda took a job with the First National Bank in Grand Forks. She continued with them for 12 years, working in the Loan Department and Special Audits Department. Later she worked for a couple of years as an operator for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.

On September 8, 1973 Linda was united in marriage with Roger Lyle Lunde. They lived in Grand Forks where they started their family. In 1979, they moved to Gwinner, ND and in 1981 to Forman, where they have lived since that time. After moving to Forman, Linda worked as a correspondent for the Sargent County Teller for 16 years. In addition, she also worked as a daycare provider for many infants and children in the Gwinner and Forman areas.

Linda was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Forman where she had served as a Sunday School teacher. She also belonged to the Forman American Legion Auxiliary. Over the years, she had served on various community boards and volunteered with countless civic activities. Linda enjoyed doing yardwork and kept an immaculate flower garden.
