Robert Earl (Robby) Carr was born in Ocala, Florida to Leonard L. and Evelyn Carr on August 4, 1957. He attended Vanguard High School, where he was in the National Honor Society, and was graduated in 1975. While in high school he worked in maintenance at Six Gun Territory, becoming a supervisor and remaining until it closed in January of 1984. He then worked for West Florida Gas (later part of TECO/Peoples Gas Company) until he was forced to medically retire in 2015. He was well known for his love of, and experience in, fishing both in fresh water and the Gulf. An accomplished photographer, he enjoyed capturing nature but was often asked to shoot weddings.

Robby is survived by brother, Leonard L. (Roy) Carr, Jr.; a nephew, David Carr, and two nieces, Tori and Alli Carr. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Evelyn, as well as nephew Brandon Carr. Robby was never married but leaves behind two close friendships of more than forty years: Dennis Guthrie, a long-time friend and roommate, and girlfriend, Nina O'Hara. Though he had no biological children, Robby helped raise several who considered him their surrogate, or second father: Jaime Strickland, Bridget Stone, Matthew O'Hara, Denise Palmer, Natalie Palmer, Caroline Hernandez, and Aryand Barnes-O'Hara.

A memorial service will be held at the Ocala Seventh Day Adventist Church, located at 415 N.E. 41st Ave in Ocala, on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Kevin Messina presiding.
