She was the daughter of the late David Henry and Elizabeth "Bessie" (McClure) Martin. In 1947 she married the late Robert Deininger, who passed away in 2009. They were married for 62 years. Their life was centered around their three surviving children, Mark R. Deininger, Barbara E. Blackerby, and Elizabeth A. Phillips, wife of Jeff Hahn. Most of their life, the family enjoyed living at Green Valley Country Club. She is also survived by her six beloved grandchildren, Benjamin Deininger, LT. Kevin Deininger, currently serving in the US Coast Guard, Elizabeth Gable, Meggan Shobe, Andrew Phillips, and Dr. Evan Phillips; and 11 great grandchildren.
She was a 1943 graduate of Mt. Penn, where she was active in high school plays and cheerleading, and having played on the girls' basketball team for three years. She was also the secretary of her junior and senior class. She enjoyed working many years as a drapery seamstress.
Agnes was a member of the Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, Wernersville Campus.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, Jan. 6th, at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W. Neversink Road, Reading. Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, 243 W. Penn Ave., Wernersville, is handling arrangements.
