Friends and Family are invited to Bob's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the O'Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy, IL.

Bob was born April 19, 1950, in Quincy, IL to G. (George) "Elmer" and Grace Sommer Blair.

He was married to Mary Ann Schuerman on December 21, 1990 in Quincy, IL. She survives.

In addition to his wife, other survivors include two children, Amy (Dennis) Mock of Quincy, IL and Becky (Rick) Owsley of Quincy, IL; three step-children, Jeanna Schwindeler of Quincy, IL, Ray (Julie) Burwinkel of Quincy, IL, and Chad Burwinkel of Quincy, IL; eight grandchildren, Kasey (Courtney) Schuster, Kurtis (Caitlyn) Schuster, Paige (Evan) Owsley, Kailey (Jackson) Owsley, Jenna (Bradley) Howser, Connor Schwindeler, Carley (Luke) Owsley, and Devin Mock; two great grandchildren, Krue and Kobe; one sister, Betty J. Hay of Elkhart, IL; two brothers, Thomas H. (Terri) Blair of Quincy, IL and Donald J. (Shirley) Blair or Quincy, IL; and one sister-in-law, Penny (Doug) Wright of Burton, IL.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Douglas P. Blair, Daniel J. Blair, and Richard W. Blair.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Over the years, Bob worked as a manager at RadioShack, a beer salesman for Mississippi Belle, and a security officer for the Illinois Veterans Home. Following retirement, he worked as a custodian for Quincy Public Schools and a sales associate at Home Depot.

Bob's favorite place to be was at his home in Fowler, which he personally remodeled. He enjoyed spending his time building and repairing things, and was always taking on a new project. Bob enjoyed building things so much that he earned the nickname "Bob the Builder". Everybody knew that if they were looking for a specific tool or piece of equipment, Bob was sure to have it. Bob enjoyed camping for years at Whispering Oaks Campground. When he wasn't camping or tinkering with something, you could find often Bob doing crossword puzzles, listening to Alabama, or enjoying one of his favorite foods, such as meatloaf, Good & Plenty candy, or oatmeal cream pies. He also had many favorite sayings, lovingly coined "Bob-isms". As Bob would always say, "Be yourself because everyone else is taken". Bob also enjoyed sports; he liked to golf and loved cheering on his favorite team, the Cincinnati Reds. However, nothing beat cheering on his own grandchildren at their Quincy Blue Devils sporting events. Bob's family was always most important to him, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
