Martha Stephens Hicks, affectionately known as "Nan", passed away December 29, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James Wade Hicks.
Born April 18, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Buren and Bernice Payne Stephens and preceded in death by brothers, Melvin (Mary) Stephens, B.V. Stephens and Clayton Stephens; sisters, Pearline Morris, Laverne Hurt and Lillian Casey.
Martha was a graduate of Cornelia High School and studied bookkeeping at Athens Technical School. She was a member of Winterville First Baptist Church and the Marion Coile Sunday School Class.
