She was born in Richlands, Virginia, and was the daughter of Evelyn Davis Dales of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, and the late Jarrett Benton Dales. Sharon was a 1973 graduate of Richlands High School and graduated from the SVCC and King College nursing program.
She had worked at the Mattie Williams Hospital, Clinch Valley Medical Center, several doctor's offices in the area, and the Regional Jail. She loved people, especially the sick and elderly, and she enjoyed talking with everyone she met. She had dedicated her life to her nursing career. Her most joyous times were spent with her husband and family. She was always happy to see her nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own. She loved her flowers, dogs, and her special caregiver and friend, Freda Wade, who were her angels with her here on Earth. She loved going to jewelry shows with her sister Carolyn. She enjoyed thrift stores and yard sales where she could talk to anyone she met. In fact, she never met a stranger. Her favorite saying, "I'll be alright," is and will always be in our hearts. She was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Lee Dales.
Those that remain to carry on her loving and caring spirit are her:
