Carolyn Mitchell Lewis has passed into her Heavenly Father's arms surrounded by her family on Friday, November 26th, 2021.
Carolyn was born Thursday, January 1st, 1948 in Columbia, Missouri to Bryan and Sue Mitchell.
She obtained all of her education in the Columbia, Missouri School System. She attended the University of Missouri and graduated from Stephen's College with a degree in English. She specialized in writing medical procedures, research papers and educational papers for the Medical Staff at the Missouri Medical Center.
While attending the university she met Bob. They were married in 1967. Later they were blessed with two children, Katherine Elizabeth and Aaron Joseph.
The Lord then led them into a life change. In 1981 they bought the "Wagon Wheel Campground" at the Lake of the Ozarks. In 1988 the Lord called again. This time a relocation to Greenville, South Carolina where Bob went to work for Fluor-Daniel. Carolyn used her experience in the medical field to become a Collections Specialist for Southeast Credit Associates. A business she later owned from 1997 until her retirement in 2010.
Carolyn's main focus all of her life was to follow the road of her Savior. She was baptized early in life at Olivet Christian Church. She was devoted to teaching Sunday School, leading the Youth Groups and teaching Bible Studies for the Women's Group. She served on many church committees and served a Deacon on the Olivet Church Board. In 1978 she became the first woman to serve as Church Board Chairperson.
Bob and Carolyn were members of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Travelers Rest. She loved singing in the choir and teaching Bible scripture to the Women's Group.
Carolyn also spent time in the flower garden, quilting, doing family history genealogy and loving her grandchildren.
Carolyn is survived by her husband Bob; her daughter Katherine of Buffalo, New York; her son Aaron Joseph (Heather) of Powdersville, South Carolina; and her grandchildren: Owen Joseph, Aiden Hunter and Hadley Leslie.
In lieu of flowers, Carolyn wished that memorials be forwarded to the Youth Group at Trinity Presbyterian Church.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 2nd, 2022 at 3pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Travelers Rest.
