James Robert McCray, 90, of Brookhaven, GA passed away January 23, 2019. A native Atlantan he graduated from Tech High. Following high school, he served in the Navy with the VC-7 Naval Air squadron. He worked for Mead Containers for 34 years. He then worked with Industrial Paper Company for 18 years, retiring in 1995. He was a Boy Scout leader and an active member and Elder at St. Luke's Presbyterian Church in Dunwoody, GA.
James was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years, Laura Cronin McCray; son, James Michael McCray and brother Edward S. McCray.
James is survived by his daughter, Louanne Cutler (Tim); son, Stephen McCray and grandchildren, Michelle Calderon, Parker Cutler, Brown Cutler.
The family will receive friends Friday, January 25, 2019 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at H.M. Patterson-Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Rd NE, Brookhaven, GA 30319. A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 3pm at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, GA followed by a reception at St. Luke's Presbyterian Church, 1978 Mt Vernon Rd, Dunwoody, GA 30338.
