Jerry L. West, 84, of Farmland, IN, passed away Sunday, December 26th, 2021 peacefully while in the company of family members, after a long battle with Covid-19 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. Jerry was born in Winchester, IN, on December 5, 1937, a son of the late Lila M. (Oxley) and Dorance O. West. He was a 1955 graduate of McKinley High School, retired from Westinghouse in 1997 and was currently employed as a bus driver for Delta High School for the past 24 years. Jerry was the loving husband of Sheila Kay (Fraze) West who he happily married on June 2, 1956. He was a member of Farmland Friends Church for over 20 years, enjoyed working, driving, mowing, farming, basketball, Bill Gaither music, watching Hallmark Movies with his lovely wife Sheila, collecting hats, little trucks and playing bass guitar. Jerry was so very proud of his family and if there was a sporting event or activity his grandchildren were involved in, He and Sheila were there. He is survived by his wife Sheila West, 3 sons; Mark L. West (wife Kim), Kevin L. West (wife Debbie A.), Kyle K. West, 2 daughters; Cathy S. Whitehead (husband Bruce), Dr. Kara J. Wulff (husband Brad), 3 sister in laws; Sandy Bray (husband Doug), Ann Fraze, Helen West, 14 grandchildren; Jason West (wife Michelle), Jared West (wife Stephanie), Jordan Price (wife Chelsea), Jonathan Price (wife Brandee), Trey West (wife Brooke), Alexis Wulff (Evan Reno), Logan Wulff, Kearston West, Xander West, Addisyn West, Levi Whitehead (wife Stephanie), Landon Whitehead (wife Jami), Lyle Whitehead, Luke Whitehead, 18 great grandchildren with number 19 on the way, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; Oren and Malcolm West, and 1 brother in law; Lowell Fraze. Friends are invited to call Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 4-8 PM and Friday, December 31, 2021 from 1-2 PM at Farmland Friends Church. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 31, 2021 at 2 PM at Farmland Friends Church with Pastor Keith Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Saratoga Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Farmland Friends Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries -Farmland Chapel.
