Deceased Name: Elna Hacking Wilson
BOUNTIFUL--Our gentle and beloved wife, mother, sister and friend passed away Sunday, October 11, 1998 at her home in Bountiful, Utah. Elna Hacking Wilson was born December 19, 1920 in Cedar Fort, Utah to Thomas William and Keren Bingham Hacking. She was educated in Cedar Fort and Lehi. Elna and C. Walter Wilson were married August 24, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Elna was a constant companion to Walt, traveling with him from place-to-place while he worked on the pipeline. During those periods away from her family and home, she filled her time making quilts and knitting special things for her children and grandchildren. One of the things that brought her joy and happiness was being with her family and friends at camping, rock hunting, and deer hunt outings. She always commented that the best time in her life was watching her sons sand drag race and the associations made with other racers and their families. She was a true fan and extended her arms to all the children there. She and Walt were the first to arrive and last to leave the race sites, helping any and all. She is survived by her husband, Walt, who was constantly at her side for the past ten months, three sons and two daughters: Marlyn (Bonnie) Wilson, West Valley City; Elroy (Dawna Lou) Wilson, Centerville; Joseph (Sandra) Wilson, West Valley City; Woneva (Merrill) Myers, Lehi; and Victoria (Wayne) Chambers, Bel Air, Maryland. Elna is survived by 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Lola (Ernest) Fowlke, Orem, and Venna (William) Elton, Cedar Fort and sister-in-law Gene Hacking, Blanding, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, LaVerle Hacking, and sisters Berniece (H. Reed) Balle and Maurine (Irvin) Jeffery. The family would like to express a special thank you to nurses, neighbors, and friends for their loving care for these past few months, Please join the family at a graveside service held Friday, October 16, 1998 at 2 p.m. in the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West.
