James Timothy Buchanan Sr. (Tim) passed away Christmas Day at 3:30 a.m. He was in the loving care of his family and left this life comfortably at his home. He is survived by his children, Reba Buchanan Wilkerson (Bo), James T. Buchanan Jr., Billy Ray Buchanan; grandchildren Lisa Williams Felix, James Bradford Williams (Jamie), Kim Buchanan Barr, and Amy Buchanan Thomas; great grandchildren Sydney Felix, Hannah Felix, Amanda Thomas, Sam Thomas, Ella Thomas, Riley Thomas and Jake Williams; his brother Buck Buchanan; numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog Cricket. He is preceded in death by his wife Ethel Wilson Buchanan and his parents Maude and Oscar Allen Sr. Coming from a pioneer family of Bay County, raised in West Bay, Tim graduated from Bay High School in 1940. He joined the Navy and served his country during WWII. After the war he went to a business college and learned accounting. In 1968 he opened Miracle Paint Center on 11th Street and then went on to open several satellite stores in the area. The Miracle Paint on the beach is still going, and is testament to his vision. Tim loved God, his family, and his country. He was a big part of the West Bay Advent Christian Church, and loved to fish and spend his free time he had on the river or Bay. He was a big part of his family's life and he will be missed greatly. Viewing will be 10 – 11 am Wednesday December 29, 2021 at West Bay Advent Christian Church with services following at 11, with Brother Kevin Skipworth and Brother David Buchanan officiating. The family ask in lieu of flowers a donation be made to West Bay Advent Christian Building Fund, and can be mailed to WBACC, 6326 Laird Park Road, Panama City Beach, FL 32413. The family will have refreshments at the church after the service. Pallbearers will be Fred Buchanan, Jamie Williams, Bonnie Buchanan, Larry Buchanan, Gary Buchanan, and Randy Dula.
