Richard Lee Collins
SEPTEMBER 3, 1946 – DECEMBER 28, 2021
Mr. Richard Lee Collins, age 75, loving husband and father, grandfather, and friend to many, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021.
Richard was born in Birmingham, Alabama on September 3, 1946. He graduated from The University of Alabama in 1969 with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. He was an Electrical Engineer for TVA for 36 years.
Richard was a member of the Hixson United Methodist Church and the Wesley Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Chattanooga Chapter of Alabama Alumni Association and past president of the Knoxville Chapter of Alabama Alumni Club. He enjoyed traveling, playing tennis, Alabama Football, and spending time with family and friends. Did I mention Alabama Football?!
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Lee Collins and Mildred Faye Collins.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 52.5 years, Sandra Collins; son, Richard W. Collins, his wife Sharon Collins and son, Alex Lamb; son, Brian Collins; son, Russell Collins, his wife, Rachael Collins and children Connor and Cassandra Collins; son, Kevin Collins, his wife, Kathy Collins and children, Kadi and Sam Collins.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 30th from 4-7 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. The funeral will be in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chattanooga Chapter of Alabama Alumni, Wesley Sunday School Class of Hixson United Methodist Church, or Big Oak Ranch.
