Roger S. Anderson, 87, of Sigel, IL passed away at 3:47 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, in Heartland Senior Living in Neoga, IL with his loved ones by his side.

Roger was born on December 20, 1934, in Dry Point Township, Shelby County, IL, the son of Charles and Mary (Dunaway) Anderson. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Roger married Virginia Quast on October 31, 1959 and they were blessed with 62 years of marriage. He worked at the grain elevator in Sigel for many years. Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing and time spent with family.

He leaves behind his lovely wife, Virginia Anderson; children: Tim (Wanda Philpott) Anderson, Richard (Peg McKinney) Wines, Gary (Marlene) Wines, Joyce (David) Barr, Dwayne (Gina) Anderson and Terry Joe (Carole Roley) Anderson; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers: Van (Eva) Anderson, Ted (Shirley) Anderson, James (Marge) Anderson and Dana (Marcie) Anderson; sisters: Linda (B.R.) Shaw and Karen Ann Anderson and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Charles and Mary Anderson; one great-grandchild, Elizabeth McEndollar and sister, Carol Anderson.

Private family services will be held. Brummerstedt Funeral Home in Stewardson is assisting the family.
