Joseph "Joe" Woods, 89, of Eldorado, IL, passed away, on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 in Eldorado, IL.
Joe was born in Equality, IL on December 28, 1932 to the late Roscoe and Pearl (Vinyard) Woods. Joe was a heavy equipment operator working out of the Operating Engineers Local #150 and was a member of the UMWA #318 and he was an Army Veteran serving in Germany for 2 years.
On April 9, 1956 in Mississippi he married the former Deloris Hammond and she survives in Eldorado. Also surviving are his children, Kathy (Bill) Noelle of Eldorado, IL, Brenda (Ron) Maloney of Raleigh, IL, Mike (Stephanie) Woods of Eldorado and Beth (Shorty) Nugent of Harrisburg, IL. Eight grandchildren, Josh (Sarah) Noelle, Lori (Adam) Brooks, Justin (Maddison) Maloney, April (Jason) Agin, Kyle (Larenda) Woods, Ben Woods, Zach (Haley) Woods and Whitney Nugent and twelve great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Jean (Bill) Winchester of St. Louis, MO and Janet McDaniel of Eldorado. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers Roscoe (Jr.) Woods and George David Woods and three sisters, Thelma Bennett, Beatrice Breaux and Sally Ann Massey.
As per his wishes he will be cremated and a private family service will be held.
