Virginia Lorene West, 93, of Steele, Missouri, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.

Virginia was born in Armorel to John and Mary Battles Bass. She was the owner and operator of West Grocery Store in Steele for 30 years and also worked at Steele Head Start. She volunteered for the Senior Citizens program in Steele and worked at the River Oaks Nursing Home. Virginia was a faithful member of Boon's Chapel Church of Christ located near the bayou at Steele. She enjoyed working in her word search books reading her Bible every day. She never missed a day of watching her "stories" (soap operas) and she love to play the card game hand and foot. Virginia had a passion for cooking, especially for her family whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul D. Adams and second husband, Lester West; son, Larry Adams; and brother, Thomas Bass.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Judy Horton and her husband Ronnie of Steele; grandchildren, Michael Horton and his wife Brooke of Kennett, Missouri, Laura Lynn and her husband Jon of Blytheville and Julie Adams of Holland, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Stephen Horton, Olivia and Brody Lynn, Kingston Harlan and Bridger Adams; and sisters, Margie Robbins of Arnold, Missouri and Barbara Jarrell of Dudley, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 31st at 10:30 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. John Mundy and Mr. Michael Horton officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
