Curtis Ray Harjo Johnson was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on May 3, 1964 and went to his Heavenly home on December 22, 2021 in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Curtis was raised in Wetumka, Oklahoma by his parents Henry and Judy (Wesley) Harjo. He attended school at Wetumka, Eufaula and Strothers were he graduated in 1984. He then attended Oklahoma Jr. college October 1985- January 1988 and obtained an Associates in Applied Science major in management with option in marketing. Curtis furthered his education and attended OSU-OKC fall of 2000 for an Associates in Applied Science Major in police science and the attended Cameron University in Lawton, Ok.
He was active in his church at Cameron Baptist Church.
Curtis proudly served his country for 17 years in the US Army and served two tours in Afghanistan, his last detail was a drill sergeant at Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma. One of his favorite deployment stations was in Germany where he met Pastor Ramirez and wife, Yvonne. He continued serving and became a Police Officer for 15 years, and his last duty was with the Cameron University Police Department for 6 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Judy (Wesley) Harjo; birth parents, Eugene and Myrtle (Fixico) Johnson; brothers, Melford Hobia, Walter Johnson, and Joe Johnson; sisters, Lois Harjo and Mildred "Baby Girl" Jones; his nephew, Tristan Flanner.
Funeral services for Curtis in Lawton were Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Cameron Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Teel officiating.
A wake service was held Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Kialegee Life Center, Wetumka, OK.
Funeral service in Wetumka was held Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the Kialegee Life Center, Wetumka, OK with Rev. Mark Smith officiating.
Funeral Arrangements were under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
