Richard Gordon Caldwell, age 71, former husband of Donna (Flood) Caldwell, passed away unexpectedly. Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late Alton L. Jr. and Alice L. (Holbrook) Caldwell. Richard was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1967, and a lifelong resident of Brockton. Richard had various jobs through the years working as a limousine driver for local livery services where he got to meet several different celebrities, athletes, and political dignitaries. He worked as a manager for Christie's Market in Brockton and several other retail jobs. Perhaps where his talent shined the most was while he worked as a self-employed seamstress. Richard was very active in the Brockton area; he was a member of the Keith Park association where he was part of a committee that applied for grants to be able to rebuild the park for the area residents to enjoy. He was also an active member of the Massachusetts State Grange. He held the title of Past Master of East Bridgewater Grange #284 and Mayflower South Pomona Grange #38. He also had an Installing Suite to go around and install the Officers for the neighboring town Granges. Richard was also the State of Massachusetts Youth Director seeing to it that the youth had many activities to keep them busy and to learn about the grange. As a youth member of the grange, Richard was selected to represent the State Grange at the National Grange Sessions as the State Prince one year and State Young Couple of the year with his wife a few years later. Richard was also a Past President of the Aierie Eagles Organization of Brockton. Richard loved sitting at his computer researching genealogy, crocheting, making miniature dollhouses, sewing, and listening to music. Richard was a member of the Christ Congregational Church of Brockton.

He was predeceased by his brother Thomas A. Caldwell.
