He was born January 15, 1948 in McPherson, Kansas to Garland Harold and Irene Faye (Fletcher) Garrett. His parents moved to Oklahoma before he was two and lived mainly in Southwest Oklahoma. He was owner of Don's Heat and Air, was an instructor at Great Plains Vo-Tech and an instructor at Treasure Lake Job Corp. Donnie enjoyed fishing when and wherever he could.
Donnie is survived by his companion Carol Claiborne, his children, Dawn Tracht and husband Craig, Joel Garrett, Lindsay Landrum and her husband Bob, his grandchildren, Kale and Jennifer Tracht, Garrett and Cassy Tracht, Austin and Chylise Tracht, Kylie Garrett and Tyler Landrum. He is also survived by five great grandchildren, many favored cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Garland and Irene Garrett and his sister Nancy Kelly.
