AGE 99 YEARS
Catherine G. "Kay" (Farrell) Adler of Arlington, passed peacefully at her home on December 25, 2021. Born in Fogo, Newfoundland, on January 3, 1922, to the late Thomas Farrell and Gertrude (Pickett). Beloved wife of the late Melvin C. "Mel" Adler.
She enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1949 and proudly served during the Korean Conflict. She was honorably discharged in 1952. Catherine was hand-selected via the Office of the Commandant of the Marine Corps as the first female Marine to serve as a member of the Marine Corps Honor Guard at Arlington National Cemetery.
Arrangements: Keefe Funeral Home, ARLINGTON.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Camillus' Church on Wednesday, December 29th, at 12PM.
Burial and Military Honors will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, in Arlington.
