Diane Mary Young

of Bloomington, passed away on December 21, 2021 at the age of 77.
She was born in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin on November 8, 1944 to Kenneth and Dorothy (Mergen) Voth. Preceded in death by parents Kenneth and Dorothy Voth and husband John W. Young.
A beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and sister, Diane graduated from Prairie du Chien High School and earned her nursing degree at St. Francis School of Nursing in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She married John Young on September 24th, 1966, and they were blessed with three children and settled in New Jersey.
After John's death in 1974 and a return to the Midwest, Diane raised the kids as a single mother while working as a nurse at Fairview Riverside in Minneapolis. She enjoyed gardening, playing scrabble, cheering on her grandkids at their many activities, eating pints of Haagen Dazs ice cream with a spoon, and spending time with family and friends. Diane was a friend of Bill W., she had a great sense of humor, and she loved to laugh.
Survived by sons, Kevin (Kay) Young and Peter (Gena) Young; daughter, Heather (Tom) Roscoe; grandchildren, Jillian and Noah Roscoe, Bonnie and Aaron Young, John and Luke Young; siblings, Dennis (Marian) Voth, Sue Scoville, Barb Voth (Arman Aransen), Liz (Brian) Bushnell; many nieces and nephews, and friends. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 8 at Washburn-McReavy, 2300 W Old Shakopee Rd, Bloomington at 11AM, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, at a later date. Memorials preferred to a charity of choice.
