From Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home:

Charles Gayle Creamer, 73, passed away on December 21, 2021, at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Kerrville, Texas, to Barney Gayle and Addie Lynn Creamer. Gayle attended Tivy High School, where he met the love of his life, Karen Thompson, when he was 17 years old. Gayle attended Texas Tech University where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Physics in 1970. He and Karen married on January 2, 1971. Gayle enlisted in the Navy and graduated from Officer Candidate School in May 1972. He had a successful 38-year career in Nuclear Engineering, working in a half dozen states for a number of employers/power plants, including Comanche Peak Nuclear Plant, Tennessee Valley Authority, and Zachry. He was always respected and well thought of by those who worked with and/or for him. A natural leader and quite intelligent, Gayle was often highly regarded as a patient mentor.

Gayle was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid lover of the Indianapolis 500 and attended every race for 33 years (1986 through 2018). Gayle had diverse musical tastes, and was a passionate football fan, always rooting for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, the Alabama Crimson Tide, and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved to travel, and meticulously planned many family vacations, often with a focus on historical sites (e.g., key locations in American History) and nature (e.g., State and National Parks). Gayle had a passion for taking his various cars on scenic drives, often times disregarding pesky speed limit signs.

Gayle was preceded in death by his parents, Barney Gayle Creamer and Addie Lynn Sauer Creamer, and by his brother, Virgil Clarence Summers. He is survived by his wife Karen Thompson Creamer; his children, Terri Creamer Middlebrook, Melissa Creamer Hood, and Phillip Creamer; son-in-law, Daniel Middlebrook, daughter-in-law Kelly Richardson Creamer; and his six grandchildren, Mandalyn, Lillian, and Evelyn Middlebrook, Presley and Jesse Hood, and Alaina Creamer.

Following a private gathering for family earlier in the weekend, there will be a service on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home, 111 Rosewood Ave, Boerne TX 78006. All are welcomed to attend. A Celebration of Life reception will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Waterfall Room at the Hampton Inn & Suites, 34935 I-10 W, Boerne TX 78006. A Military Honors Memorial will be held on Monday, January 3 at 3:00 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio TX.
