Mrs. Helen Cooke Buried in Oak Hill
Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Nicholson Cooke, 75, who died Sunday at her home in the Woodley Apartments, were held yesterday at 2:30PM in the chapel at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Cooke, great-granddaughter of Thomas Corcoran, one time Mayor of Georgetown, was prominent in civic affairs her for many years. She was the daughter of the late Commodore Somerville Nicholson, United States Navy. A grandfather, Dr. William Jones was Postmaster of Washington.
Mrs. Cooke was a native of the Capital. Since the death of her husband several years ago, she had been living with a daughter, Mrs. Helen Cooke Barbour.
In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Cooke is survived by three brothers, Rear Admiral Reginald F. Nicholson, United States Navy, retired; Augustus Nicholson and Reynolds Nicholson.
