Shirley Ward Scott, age 79 of Warriormine, WV crossed into her new body in heaven Thursday, December 23, 2021 at her home. Born February 14, 1942 in Welch, WV she was a daughter of the late Hubert and Tilda Ward. She had a heart of gold, looked out for everyone, loved to help and feed the community kids that lived around her. The family would like to express special thanks to Hospice Compasses for the care and comfort provided while keeping her wishes. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by sons, Randy Scott, Glenn Scott, Donnie Harding, and Charles Jackson; daughter, Tammy Shortridge; grandson, Ethan Glenn Hatcher; son in law, Roger White; brothers, Frank and Roy Ward; sisters, Patty Payne, Odela Hicks, and Eva Ervin.
She is survived by her daughters, Ruth "Ellen" White and Sherrie Keen and husband, Stephen all of Warriormine, WV; sister, Ruth Baker of Tennessee; grandchildren, Chris Jackson, Kaitlyn Jackson, Abby Keen, Rog White, Frankie White, Laura Click, Earl Click, Becky Hatcher, Hope Shortridge, Dawn Scott, Stephanie Butler, and Anthony Scott; a host of great grandkids and very special one, Bryson Phillips who always put a smile on her face and she called "her little angel"; two special ones she called her grandkids, Rebecca Shrader and Karen Smith.
Following private burial at the Underwood Cemetery, a memorial service will be held a later date at the Independent Church of the Living God at Shop Hollow, WV with Benny Mullins and Melvin Muncy officiating.
