Winters, Texas -- Carson C. Easterly, 86, of Winters died Saturday, December 22, 2007 in a local hospital.

He was born March 12, 1921 in Kemp, Texas to Charley and Lizzie Mae Gregory Easterly. He moved to Winters with his family in 1936. He served in the United States Army During world War 2 and the Korean Conflict. He married Betty Sue Henderson on November 11, 1954 in Winters. He was a mechanic and worked for the Winters I.S.D. retiring in 1986. He was a member of North Main Church of Christ and was a member of the American Legion for over 60 years and the Winters Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years.

He is survived by: his wife, Betty Easterly of Winters: 2 daughters, Brenda Grosshans and her husband, F. P. of San Angelo and Sherry Easterly of Sweetwater; 1 brother, John D. Easterly and his wife, Ruby of Stephenville; 2 sisters, Charlynn Rogers and her husband, Wayne of Waco and LaVerne Watkins of Maple Valley, Washington; Several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Mr. Easterly will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday December 23, 2007 in the North Main Church of Christ with Jordan Hubbard and Danny Duggan officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery directed by Winters Funeral Home.
