Don "Mule" Adkins, died at the University of Iowa Hospital on December 26th, 2021, from complications with cancer.

The stubborn mule of a man went as he wanted, with his girls holding his hands. He is loved by many who have endless stories of all the trouble he got into and how he made others laugh, not to mention the joy his laugh brought to those who were lucky enough to hear it.

His favorite things were his girls and his dog Shady. BSing in the "grudge" with a beer and a friend was common for Mule, but only if they brought their own beer. He named every car and tractor he owned (and the girls, even though they already had names) as long as they were red Chevys or John Deere.

He was always leaning on things, even if they weren't his, and was always outside in the garage or on the porch watching storms or camping. He was ornery, throwing firecrackers at his neighbor Frank for mowing before he was ready, and constantly stubbing his toe in public (if you know you know). He gave every nurse grief and made them call him Mule, and no doubt was one of their favorite patients.

He had the best stories about Tommy Toad and Sydney Spider, told the most ornery dad jokes, and insisted Smokey and the Bandit was the best movie ever, but the other two movies were crap. He also enjoyed getting Dale fired up about Wal-Mart, that rant could go on and on.

He is survived by his siblings Joyce, Patty, Katie, and twin Dan. His daughters Nicole and Mallery. His dog Shady, and the toad in the garage.

He will join his parents Bill and Frances, and neighbor Frank, so blame the next thunderstorm on them, they're throwing firecrackers at each other.

Per Mule's request, there will be no services, he didn't like a fuss.
