Charles Daniel Wood passed away on December 27, 2021. He was born on March 31, 1941 to the late Herschel and Margaret Elizabeth Carter Wood. He was known by his family as "Dink" because of his small stature and by his coworkers as "Charlie". He retired in 2003 from Yancey Brothers after a lengthy career as a diesel mechanic. He and his wife, Sandra, were avid gardeners and were known for their large vegetable gardens every summer. He loved tractors, plowing, cutting grass, fixing cars, and most anything to do with his hands. There was nothing he couldn't fix even if it meant inventing his own tool to do it. He always left everything he touched better than how he found it, including people. There is not a person who knew him who didn't love him. The hole left in his absence in this world will never be filled.

In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years; Sandra Jean Millwood Wood and five siblings: three brothers, David, James, and Herschel G. Wood; and two sisters, Dorothy Elizabeth Wood White and Gertrude Elaine Wood.
He is survived by his son; Stephen (Marlene) Wood of Acworth, daughter; Sharon (Kevin) Jones of Hiram, brother in law; Raymond Millwood of Colombus, NC, sister in law; Patricia Wood of Whitesburg, GA, sister in law; Sherry Wood of Ballground, GA, eleven grandchildren; Kyle Wood, Kristin Rooks, Colleen Harwell, Amanda Lopez, Jaw Sweeney, Collin Siesel, Darren Siesel, Katelyn Rusk, Nathan Reece, Carson Jones, and Logan Jones; three great-grandchildren; Hannah Siesel, Lily Burney, Aldrin Wood, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm. Funeral services for Mr. Wood will immediately follow at 2:00pm with Reverend Art Brady officiating. Interment will follow at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens.
Clark Funeral Home is honored to care for the family during this difficult time.
