Jacquelyn Virginia Holmes, 69, passed from this life Monday, December 20, 2021, at Brighton Gardens of Brentwood in Brentwood, TN.

She was born in Panama, the daughter of the late Jack Holmes and Rosalind Lewis Holmes, who survives, and resided in Memphis and Nashville.

While growing up in Memphis, she was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament. She taught CCD, led Bible studies, and various prayer groups at The Church of Incarnation in Collierville. She attended Immaculate Conception Cathedral School.

As a young woman, she enjoyed modeling (as a hobby) and, in later years, was an avid reader, especially of Steven King novels. She would often tell her family, "If a book didn't scare you, it wasn't worth reading!"

She is survived by two daughters, Melissa Shea Metz of Franklin, TN and Madelyn McClorey (Nick) of Tucson, AZ; two sons, William Preston Shea (Krissi) of Franklin and Philip Randolph Shea of Oregon; her mother, Rosalind Holmes of Memphis; two sisters, Teresa Couture (Blake) of Boise, ID and Elizabeth Cernick (Gail) of Baston, NC; four brothers, John Holmes (Tiffany) of Tavernier, FL, Michael Holmes (Ellen), Joseph Holmes and David Holmes (Sandy), all of Memphis; and six grandchildren, Paige Elizabeth Shea, Piper Jacquelyn Metz, Reilly Meredith Metz, August Shea Metz, Reagan Marie McClorey and Kayleigh Martin McClorey.

A reception will be held immediately after the graveside service at Shackelford's Bolivar chapel.
