Dorothy Pitt Bell (Dottie), 97, of Westminster, MD died Thursday, December 23, 2021, of natural causes at Carroll Lutheran Village.

Born December 10, 1924 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late C. Blake Pitt and Dorothy Tobler Pitt. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, James Milton Bell, Jr.

She graduated from the University of Maryland with a BS in Bacteriology and retired from Becton Dickinson Corporation.
She and her husband were charter members of Hobbits Glen Golf Club, and she was a former member of Seabrook Island Golf Club, Patuxent Greens Golf Club, and Waynesboro Country Club.

Surviving are daughters Linda Hart and husband Bill of Westminster, Patricia Coward and husband Wilson of Florence, SC, Karen Bell of Olney, IL, and Barbara Cook and husband Giles of St. Augustine, FL; a sister, Susan Spangenberg of Andover, MA; grandchildren Jamie Coward and wife Traci of Florence, Sandy Hart-Long and husband Tim of Hampstead, MD, Brandon Coward and wife Buffy of Florence, Ian Fowble and wife Caitlin, of Ellicott City, MD, Jessie Fowble of Tampa, FL and Katarina Cook of Woodside, CA; great-granddaughters Caroline and Courtney Coward, Madelyn Long, and Gemma Fowble. Also surviving are nieces, a nephew, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and brother-in-law Robert Bell of Cooksville. She was predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth Feroli.
