Mr. Morris was born September 5, 1943, in Charleston County, SC, to the late Charles and Minnie Sue Gillespie Morris. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam war and was the very proud owner of Morris and Sons Cars in Black Mountain, NC.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judith Payne Morris; daughter, Traci Melton (Scott); sons, Matthew Morris (Shannon); Samuel Eric Morris (Wendy) and seven grandchildren; David Melton, Mark Melton, Nate Morris, Aidan Morris, Isabella Morris, Lara Morris, and Fletcher Ballance.
Funeral services will be held at 10am, Thursday December 30 at New Bridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Clark Henderson officiating. Burial with military honors will be at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery immediately after.
The family will greet friends at the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.
