Everyone that knew her called her Me Maw or Mom. She was born on June 8, 1928, in Detroit, Texas to Needom and Jettie Hulen. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 72 years Gene Hanna and one daughter Wanda, 3 brothers and two sisters.
Anna Lou is survived by her brothers Gordon Hulen, of Phoenix, Arizona and Richard Hulen of Pensacola, Florida.
Her two daughters, Carol (Campbell) Trussell of Pecan Gap, Mary Lou (Souder) Brown of Wellington and three sons, Jeff Hanna of Brady, Paul Hanna of Wellington, and Matthew Hanna of San Antonio; 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
If you summed up her life, she lived to care for Gene (Pop) and her children. She never wanted or needed anything fancy. She enjoyed cooking and giving simple things to all her children and grandchildren. Her daily homemade rolls, pinto beans and chicken fried steak will never be forgotten or replaced.
She loved her brothers and sisters unconditionally and always loved their visits. She wanted to be part of all her families lives, never intrusive in doing so, she was quick to laugh but she was very tough when it came to crying........We have all missed her simple questions and interest in our daily lives the past few years as she has slowly faded away, she was ready to go be with Pop again and God answered her prayers........We know they are rejoicing and we will see them once again......
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Dreamland Cemetery Association.
