She was born October 2, 1933, to Walter and Bertha Knowles in Havana, Illinois. She married Ron Sullivan on December 12, 1986.
Jean Retired from the Illinois Department of Revenue. She was an excellent seamstress and even made her daughter's wedding dress. Quilting was her hobby and she made beautiful quilts for all of her family. She loved making homemade chicken and noodles, fudge and divinity to share with family and friends. She treasured her family. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports, hot fudge sundaes and taking rides to look at big white fluffy clouds. She always said, "You can't stay sad if you look up at the beautiful sky and heaven."
Jean is survived by her daughter and husband; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a wealth of friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Ron, on June 10, 2017; her parents; two brothers, Harold "Speed" Knowles and Walter Duane Knowles; her sister, Betty Smith Zimmerman and two nieces.
Per Jean's wishes private family services are planned at Oakford Cemetery at a later date. Cremation rites were accorded by Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg, Illinois.
