Mary Evelyn Ray, age 93, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (December 25, 2021) at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes.

She was born on April 6, 1928 in Daviess County, KY, to the late William and Evelyn Waltrip Fitzgerald.

She was a housewife, who enjoyed farming, sewing and cooking. She was a member of Clearview Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Sue Ray and Avon Droz both of Leitchfield and Bonnie Ray Clark of Owensboro; ten grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Ray; two daughters, Patricia Ray Cottrell and Joyce Ray Sharer; great-grandchild, Hunter Gage Hatcher; three sisters, Ina Ruth Frells, Ida Ford and Nora Fitzgerald; and one brother, William Fritzgerald.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, (December 31, 2021) at the Dermitt Funeral Home. Bro. Chester Shartzer will be officiating. Burial will be in the Shrewsbury Cemetery.
