Robert M. McCoy, Sierra Vista, Arizona, passed away on December 5, 2021. He was born on October 25, 1947, in Hegins, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Robert Spencer McCoy and Eris Mary (Huntsinger) McCoy. His wife, Elenita McCoy survives him. Ellen (Kay) McCoy preceded him in death.
Robert was a veteran of the US Army. He served in Desert Storm and Iraq. After serving more than 20 years in the Army and Army Reserves, Robert retired from the Army as a Chief Warrant Officer, Fourth Class. He last served at the 484th Classification and Collection US Army Reserve Unit in Lewistown, PA.
Robert was a graduate of Haverford Township High School and Millersville University with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Social Studies Education in 1974. He graduated with a Master's in Secondary Education from Millersville University in 1980. While at Millersville he was a member of Chi Gamma Iota Veteran's Fraternity (XGI). He also did post-graduate work at Temple University. He was a member of Ross Street United Methodist Church, Lancaster PA.
Robert retired as a correctional educator teaching in the Adult Education Department at Camp Hill State Correctional Institution in Pennsylvania before moving to Arizona. He also taught at Tussey Mountain School District, Saxton, PA. He worked several security jobs using his military skills...
