Richard "Dick" Earl Potts, 90, of Duffy, OH passed peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 25, 2021 while surrounded by his family.
Dick was born July 3, 1931 in Duffy, OH, son of the late Nelson and Leila (Ruble) Potts.
He was quite the entrepreneur and owned several different businesses, a U.S. Army veteran, loved bowling, playing cards and shooting pool, life member of the VFW Leo F. Reilly Post 9930, life member of the New Martinsville Moose Lodge No. 931, American Legion Hannibal Post 760 and a member of the Duffy Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Randy Slider.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-five years, Marlene Potts; son, Michael Potts of Duffy, OH; two daughters, Diana "Did" Slider of Middlebourne, WV and Kim (Stacy) Dye of Clarington, OH; three brothers, Nelson "Sonny" (Donna) Potts, Ted (Evelyn) Potts and Steve (Myrna) Potts all of Sardis, OH; two sisters, Sue (Donnie) Crawford and Ellet (Robert "Bob") Howell both of Sardis, OH; six grandchildren, Josh, Brandi, Jeremy, Kelsey, "DJ" and Justin; four great grandchildren, Emmett, Oakley, Duke and Virginia and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV where the service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2021. Burial to follow in Sardis Cemetery in Sardis, OH.
