Margaret Louise Hughes, 90, of Clearfield, PA died on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Colonial Courtyard in Clearfield, PA.
Born on May 4, 1931 in Osceola Mills, PA she was the daughter of the late Fintan and Alice (Peters) O'Neill. She married Ben Hughes on October 28, 1954 in Osceola Mills, PA, he preceded her in death on April 19, 2002.
She was a member of the Saint Francis Roman Catholic Church in Clearfield, PA.
Margaret was a retired RN and was proud of her nursing career and was committed to her Catholic Faith. She was a 1949 graduate of the former Osceola Mills High School and was a 1952 graduate of the Philipsburg State Hospital Nursing School.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by: two sisters, Frances Golthorp and Annette Young; and one brother, Fintan O'Neill.
She is survived by: three daughters, Colleen Hughes of Punxsutawney, PA, Mary Luther & her husband David of Pittsburgh, PA and Theresa Weaver & her husband Elwin of Gibsonia, PA; three sons, Richard Hughes & his wife Cathie of Clearfield, PA, Michael Hughes & his wife Aileen of Vienna, VA and Ben Hughes of Punxsutawney, PA; and eight grandchildren, Nate Luther, Benedict Hughes, Christopher Weaver, Mike Weaver, Joe Weaver, Hope Weaver and Elizabeth Hughes.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Francis Catholic Church in Clearfield, PA: with Father Brandon M. Kleckner celebrant.
Burial will be at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetry in Osceola Mills, PA.
There will be no visitation.
