Linda Scott, 82, of Marshalltown, Iowa, died on Sunday, December 26, 2021, at her home. Funeral services at Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown. Interment in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown.

Linda was born on September 26, 1939, the daughter of Lloyd and Ruby (Halverson) Spence. She was the third of four children who were raised on the farm in Laurel, Iowa.

Linda graduated from Laurel High School in 1958. In 1959 Linda married Gary Sharer and they relocated as he was stationed in Tampa, Florida, in the Air Force. They were the parents of three children, Belinda, Kelly, and Kimberley. After his four-year duty they relocated back to Marshalltown and she worked at Marshalltown Manufacturing until they moved.

For many years she did odd and jobs while traveling. She made her way back to Marshalltown where she worked at the Iowa Veterans Home in the food service department. She enjoyed her 15 years at the Iowa Veterans Home until she retired in 2010. While spending her time at the Iowa Veterans Home she received several recognition plaques for perfect attendance. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, and caring for her four fur babies.

Surviving are her children, Belinda (Bill Peters) Sharer, Kelly Sharer, and Kimberley Cahalan; grandchildren, Jason, Jared, and Amanda; great granddaughter Kaylee; nephews, nieces, and cousins; Bill's extended family; daughters, Mary Martin, and Vicki (Mike) Daugherty; grandchildren; and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; brother, Glen Spence; sister, Helen Louise; and extended family and friends.
