1905 ~ 2004
Clell H. Brewer of Three Rivers died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004. He was 98. Clell had lived in Three Rivers continuously longer than any other current resident.
On Aug. 27, 1905, Clell was born in Indian Territory, in what is now Porter, Okla. (pop. 588), to William and Lula Brewer.
Clell first visited Three Rivers with his family in 1918 to visit his aunt. He returned here to live in 1927.
Clell began working for the Edison Company in Three Rivers in 1929; his father and two of his brothers also worked for SCE. On Aug. 16, 1931, Clell married the former Opal Craig in Visalia; they had five children.
In 1957, Clell married Louise Ryan in Nevada. He retired from SCE as a maintenance foreman in 1967, after 38 years with the company.
Clell assisted in the construction of both the Three Rivers Presbyterian and Baptist churches. He was a member of both over the years.
Clell was preceded in death by his wife, Louise, in 1997; his four brothers — Denver, Norval, Vernon, and Donald — and sister Mildred Austin; a daughter, Olliene Morrow, in 1963; and a grandson, Paul Brewer, in 2001.
He is survived by his five children, One stepdaughter a; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren
