Obituary
David Brian Selby, 64 years old, of Dalton passed away at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. on Friday December 24, 2021.
He was preceded in death by the following family members, mother, Shirley Selby; infant daughter; sister, Linda Starling; niece, Halei Turner.
David was of the Baptist Faith, he had a long history and love for racing. David's career began with Dave Wright Racing, and developed into becoming a crew chief for Mike Thomas, Bobby Gill, and retired with Tim Fryar Racing. After retirement he gained a passion for restoring classic cars. David was a loving fiancé, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
He is survived by fiancé, Janella Hayes and her son Dustin Irwin of the residence; father J.L. Selby of Ringgold; sisters and brother-in-law, Peggy and Tim Ausmus of Chatsworth, Connie and Ken Quarles of Chatsworth, and Carrie and James Fisher of Dalton; brother, Donald Selby and Kandy Swancey of Villanow; many aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews, Jason (Tonya) Long, Amber Sane, Jeremy (Katy) Sane, Amanda (Daniel) Adair, Marie Busby, Jeff Selby, Cassey Selby, Kevin (Autumn) Cornett, Jessica Quarles, Collan (Megan) Quarles, and Jackson Percy, and many great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm, Monday, December 27, 2021 at the Rocky Face Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Ollis officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, December 27, 2021, from 3:00 pm till service time at 7:00 pm.
Inurnment will be at Hill Crest Big Lick Cemetery in Crossville TN.
